VESTING OF RECLAIMED LAND |
An Act to
vest certain reclaimed land in the public board of works for New Providence. | 6 of 1929

1. This Act
may be cited as the Vesting of Reclaimed Land Act. | Short title. |
2. The land
referred to and described in the First Schedule to this Act shall be deemed to
have been reclaimed under the authority of this Act and shall be vested in The
Public Board of Works for New Providence in fee simple in trust for the public
service of The Bahamas subject to the disposition of the legislature. | Re-claimed land vested in
Board of Works. |
3. The
portion of the said land referred to and described in the Second Schedule to
this Act may be leased to Bahamas Hotel Company, Limited, upon the terms agreed
upon in accordance with the resolution of the legislature
passed during the session ending the seventh day of June, one thousand nine
hundred and twenty-eight, relating to the property known as the Navy Yard. Subject
to the provisions of the Buildings Regulations Act, and any Act passed in
amendment thereof or substitution therefor and subject to the provisions of any
other Act the said company may erect buildings on the said island. | Portion of said land may be
leased to Bahamas Hotel Co. Ltd. |
FIRST SCHEDULE (Section 2) |
All
that land reclaimed from the Harbour of Nassau in the vicinity of the land
leased to Bahamas Hotel Company, Limited, by the Act fourteen
George the Fifth chapter three and the property known as the Navy Yard and
Rigby's Slip, and the property immediately to the west of Rigby's Slip, and
extending from the western boundaries of said land leased to Bahamas Hotel
Company, Limited, along the whole frontage of the properties hereinbefore
mentioned, which said reclaimed land is enclosed to the north and west by a
parapet wall. |
SECOND SCHEDULE |
All
that portion of the reclaimed land referred to in the First Schedule to this
Act bounded on the north three hundred sixty two feet and six inches by the
Harbour of Nassau, on the east and south-east by the land leased to the Bahamas
Hotel Company, Limited, by the Act fourteen George the Fifth chapter three on
the south partly by land known as the Navy Yard and running thereon seventy-one
feet and on the west one hundred and ninety-five feet by other portion of the
said reclaimed land. |
