GOSPEL MISSIONARY UNION INCORPORATION

An Act to incorporate the Field Director of the Gospel Missionary Union.

56 of 1961

[Commencement 31st July, 1961]

1. This Act may be cited as the Gospel Missionary Union Incorporation Act.

Short title.

2. The Field Director of the Gospel Missionary Union for the time being shall be deemed a corporation sole and shall be known and described as "Field Director of the Gospel Missionary Union".

3. (1) The Field Director of the Gospel Missionary Union shall have full power to acquire by purchase, transfer, donation, exchange, devise, bequest, grant, gift, conveyance or otherwise any real or personal property or any estate or interest therein.

(2) All real or personal property acquired under subsection (1) of this section shall be held for the use and benefit of the Gospel Missionary Union.

4. The Field Director of the Gospel Missionary Union shall, subject to any restraint, reservation or condition contained in the document under which he shall have acquired title thereto, be entitled to sell, mortgage, lease and otherwise dispose of and deal with all property which may for the time being be vested in or have been acquired by him under any of the provisions of this Act.

5. No change of the person holding the office of Field Director of the Gospel Missionary Union shall affect any real or personal property or any estate or interest therein vested in the Field Director of the Gospel Missionary Union but such property and estate and interest therein shall vest in the succeeding Field Director of the Gospel Missionary Union in the same way and to the same extent that they vested in the former Field Director of the Gospel Missionary Union.

6. The Field Director of the Gospel Missionary Union shall have power to appoint an Attorney for such time and purposes and with such powers as may be stated in the Power of Attorney.

7. The Reverend Fred J. Oliver shall be deemed to be the present Field Director of the Gospel Missionary Union.

8. All property in the Colony real or personal of what nature or kind soever which is now vested or held in any manner in trust for or for the use and benefit of the Gospel Missionary Union shall vest in and be held by the Field Director of the Gospel Missionary Union.

9. Nothing in this Act shall prejudice or affect the rights of Her Majesty the Queen, Her Heirs and Successors or of any other person or persons except such as are mentioned in this Act and those claiming by, from, through or under them.
