GOODWILL ORPHANAGE INCORPORATION |
An Act
granting corporate privileges to the executive committee of the trustees of an
institution within these islands known as the Goodwill Orphanage and Home for
Girls. | 42 of 1939 |

1. This Act
may be cited as the Goodwill Orphanage Incorporation Act. | Short title. |
2. The
members for the time being of the Executive Committee of the Trustees of the
aforesaid institution and their successors in office shall be deemed to be a
body corporate and have the name of The Executive Committee of the Trustees of
the Goodwill Orphanage and Home for Girls and by that name shall have perpetual
succession and shall have full power to purchase, take, hold, enjoy, sell, grant,
convey, mortgage, lease, invest and otherwise deal with and dispose of all
property real and personal, of what nature or kind soever, hereafter acquired
and may sue and be sued in all the courts in The Bahamas. | Executive Committee of

3. All
property in The Bahamas, real or personal, of what nature or kind soever, which
is now vested in any manner in any person or body of persons for and on behalf
of the Goodwill Orphanage and Home for Girls shall vest in and be held by the
Executive Committee and Trustees of the Goodwill Orphanage and Home for Girls. | Vesting of property in

4. All
property real or personal, of what nature or kind soever, heretofore and
hereafter demised or bequeathed by will, or otherwise given to the Goodwill
Orphanage and Home for Girls shall be held by and is and shall be hereby vested
in and shall be deemed to be the property of the said corporate body. | Property to be held for use

5. All
property vest in or hereafter acquired by the said corporate body shall be held
by the said corporate body for the use and benefit of the Goodwill Orphanage
and Home for Girls. | Vesting in property. |
6. Nothing
in this Act shall prejudice or affect the rights of His Majesty the King, His
Heirs and Successors or of any other body politic or corporate or of any other
person or persons except such as are mentioned in this Act and those claiming
by from through or under them. | Rights of King and others
