PRESIDENT OF THE NATIONAL CHAPTER OF THE DAUGHTERS OF THE EMPIRE OF THE BAHAMAS
INCORPORATION |
An Act to
incorporate the President of the National Chapter of The Bahamas of the
imperial order of the daughters of the empire and the children of the empire (junior
branch). | 41 of 1939 |

1. This Act
may be cited as The President of the National Chapter of the Daughters of the
Empire of the Bahamas Incorporation Act. | Short title. |
2. The
President of the National Chapter of the Bahamas of the Imperial Order of the
Daughters of the Empire and the Children of the Empire (junior branch) and her
successors in office shall be deemed to be a body corporate and have the name
of The President of the National Chapter of the Daughters of the Empire of the
Bahamas and by that name shall have perpetual succession and shall have full
power to purchase, take, hold, enjoy, sell, grant, convey, mortgage, lease, invest
and otherwise deal with and dispose of all property real and personal of what
nature or kind soever hereafter acquired and may sue and be sued in all the
courts in The Bahamas. | President of the National
Chapter of the Bahamas of the Imperial Order of the Daughters of the Empire to
be a corporation sole. |
3. All
property real or personal of what nature or kind soever hereafter devised or
bequeathed by will or otherwise given to the National Chapter of the Bahamas of
the Imperial Order of the Daughters of the Empire and the Children of the
Empire (junior branch) shall be held by and shall be deemed to be the property
of the said corporate body. | Vesting of property given
to National Chapter. |
4. All
property hereafter acquired by the said corporate body shall be held by the
said corporate body for the use and benefit of the National Chapter of the
Bahamas of the Imperial Order of the Daughters of the Empire and the Children
of the Empire (junior branch). | Property to be held for use
of the National Chapter. |
5. Nothing
in this Act shall prejudice or affect the rights of His Majesty the King, His
Heirs and Successors or of any other body politic or corporate or of any other
person or persons except such as are mentioned in the Act and those claiming by,
from, through or under them. | Rights of the King and
others reserved. |
