LAND EXCHANGE (WATERLOO HOTEL)

An Act to authorise the Public Board of Works for New Providence to exchange certain land in the Eastern District of New Providence for certain other land in that district.

[Commencement 30th December, 1936]

1. This Act may be cited as the Land Exchange Act.

Short title.

2. (1) It shall be lawful for the Public Board of Works for New Providence to exchange the land described in the Schedule to this Act for certain other land in that District owned by The Waterloo Hotel Company Limited.

Authorises New Providence Board of Works to exchange certain land.

(2) To effect such exchange it shall be lawful for the said Board to convey the land described in the said Schedule in fee simple to The Waterloo Hotel Company Limited upon that company conveying to the said Board in fee simple the strip of land which was required to widen the road around the eastern part of the said company's property.

SCHEDULE (Section 2)

All that piece or parcel of land, being a portion of former War Department land surrounding Fort Montagu and situate in the Eastern District of New Providence and bounded north-eastwardly by East Bay Street, southwardly by land the property of The Waterloo Hotel Company, Limited, and north-westwardly by a drain leading from Waterloo Lake to the sea and separating it from property originally granted to Robert Thompson and subsequently owned by the late Honourable T. V. Matthews and having the position, boundaries, shape, marks and dimensions set forth in a plan which is on file in the office of the Surveyor General.
