WESLEYAN METHODIST MISSIONARY TRUST ASSOCIATION

An Act to enable the Wesleyan Methodist Missionary Trust Association, a company registered in London under the Imperial Companies Acts 1862 to 1863, to hold reality and personality in The Bahamas.

1. This Act may be cited as the Wesleyan Methodist Missionary Trust Association Act.

Short title.

2. It shall be lawful for the Wesleyan Methodist Trust Association to acquire and hold real and personal property in The Bahamas in its corporate name and such real and personal property to deal with, transfer, mortgage, and dispose of as it may seem fit:

Provided that the prvileges and powers granted and conferred by this Act shall not be enjoyed or exercised unless and until the Wesleyan Methodist Missionary Trust Association,

(a)
has deposited, or caused to be deposited, for record in the Office of the Registrar of Records of The Bahamas a duly certified and authenticated copy of its Memorandum of Association and also a duly certified and authenticated copy of its Articles of Association and has paid the recording fees thereon; and
(b)
has caused a notice to be inserted in the Gazette to the effect that such certified and authenticated copies have been deposited as required by this Act.

3. It shall be lawful for the Registrar of Records to record the copy of the Memorandum of Association and of the Articles of Association of the Wesleyan Methodist Missionary Trust Association deposited in his office in accordance with the requirements aforesaid, as other documents are now recorded by law, upon the same being lodged for such purpose.

4. All real and personal property in The Bahamas now held in trust or possession for or on behalf of the Wesleyan Methodist Missionary Society of London or of the Wesleyan Methodist Conference in England by any person, is hereby vested in the Wesleyan Methodist Missionary Trust Association, excepting such as is vested in a legally constituted body of Trustees.

Property now held in trust to be vested in the Wesleyan Missionary Trust Association.
