BLAKE ROAD DIVERSION |
An Act to
authorise and confirm the diversion of certain portions of Blake Road and the
Western Road. | 15 of 1940 |

1. This Act
may be cited as the Blake Road Diversion Act. | Short title. |
2. In this
Act: | Interpretation. |
"Board" means
the Public Board of Works for New Providence. |
3. It shall
be lawful for the Board: | Authorises diversion of
road. |
(a) to
authorise and confirm the diversion of a certain point of Blake Road which
recently has been made through the tract of land known as "The Caves,"
and to convey in fee simple to the owner of the said tract of land known as "The
Caves" that portion of land over which the said portion of the Blake Road
originally ran, and also that portion of the original Western Road which runs
through the said tract of land known as "The Caves" in exchange for
the conveyance in fee simple of the portion of land thirty feet wide over which
the said Blake Road, as diverted, now runs; and |
(b) to stop up
and close the said portions of the land over which the said portions of Blake
Road and the said Western Road originally ran. |
4. Upon the
said portions of land being stopped up and closed in manner provided in
paragraph (b) of section 3 of this Act, the right of the public to the use of
the same shall cease and be extinguished. | Vesting of new road. |
5. The land
conveyed to the Board in exchange in manner provided in paragraph (a) of
section 3 of this Act shall be and remain vested in the Board in fee simple, and
the Board shall hold the same in trust for the public service of the Colony
subject to the disposition of the Legislature. | Land exchanged vested in
