Preface

This Edition of the Subsidiary Legislation of The Bahamas has been prepared under the provisions of the Law Reform and Revision Act (Statute Law of The Bahamas, 2000, Chapter 3).  It contains the rules, regulations, orders, notices, etc. made under the Constitution and the various Acts contained in the Statute Law of the Bahamas, 2000 and certain of the Orders of Her Majesty in Council remaining in force after Independence.

The previous Edition of the Subsidiary Legislation consisted of six volumes and contained the subsidiary legislation in force on 30 June, 1987. The present Edition of six volumes contains the subsidiary legislation as in force on 31st December, 2000 [i]* arranged under the Chapter Numbers, Titles and Sub-Titles of the Statute Law of the Bahamas, 2000. The number and year of each instrument included is printed in italics opposite its title, together with those of any amending instruments, while the number and year of amending instruments are also to be found opposite the particular provisions to which they respectively relate. As in the Statute Law of The Bahamas, 2000, the Existing Laws Amendment Order, 1974, is referred to as "E.L.A.O., 1974".
