ACCIDENTAL FIRES

An Act to amend the law relating to accidental fires.

20 of 1961

[Commencement 31st July, 1961]

1. This Act may be cited as the Accidental Fires Act.

Short title.

2. Notwithstanding any law, usage or custom to the contrary, no action, suit, or process whatsoever shall lie, or be taken, maintained or prosecuted against any person by reason of any damage or injury resulting from any fire which shall begin accidentally:

Relief from liability for accidental fires.

Provided that nothing herein contained shall affect the civil liability of any person for any negligent or wilful act or omission or the criminal or contractual liability of any person.
