2. On the coming into force of this Act the Minister
responsible for Public Safety may by notice in the Gazette appoint a
time, which shall not be less than one month, during which every person, having
in his possession a firearm which is unlicensed under the provisions of the
principal Act, may deposit the same at such place or at one of such places as
may be designated in the said notice and on such deposit such firearm shall be
confiscated and destroyed, but no proceeding shall be taken against such person
under the principal Act in respect of his possession of that firearm. | Power of Minister to declare moratorium. |
