2. As from the date of the coming into operation of
this Act, section 2(2) of the United Kingdom Defence (Transfer of Functions)
Act, 1964 shall be deemed to have had effect in The Bahamas and the authority
conferred by that section upon the Secretary of State for Defence shall be
deemed to include the power to hold and dispose of land or any interest in land
