REMOVAL OF THE ATTORNEY-GENERAL'S CONSENT

An Act to remove the consent of the Attorney-General in relation to certain criminal offences.

1. (1) This Act may be cited as the Removal of the Attorney-General's Consent Act, 2000.

Short title and commencement.

(2) This Act shall come into force on such date as the Governor-General may appoint by Notice in the Gazette.

2. The Acts specified in the first column of the Schedule are amended in the manner and to the extent set out in the second column of that. Schedule.

Section 146(5) is amended by the deletion of the words "or where authorised by fiat of the Attorney-General before a magistrate of the district in which the offence was committed".
