AN ACT TO AMEND THE LOTTERIES |
AND GAMING ACT TO PROVIDE FOR |
PARI-MUTUEL WAGERING IN THE
BAHAMAS |

1. This Act may be cited as the
Lotteries and Gaming (Amendment) Act, 2002. | Short title. |
2. Subsection (1) of section 2
of the Lotteries and Gaming Act is amended - | Amendment of section 2 of Ch. 351. |
(a) in the definition of
"gaming", by the insertion immediately after the words "sports
betting" of the words "and pari-mutuel wagering"; and |
(b) in the definition of
"player" - |
(i) by the deletion of the word
"and" appearing at the end of paragraph (a); and |
(ii) by the insertion immediately
after paragraph (b) of the following new paragraph - |
"(c) in relation to
pari-mutuel wagering, means a person who takes part in pari-mutuel wagering by
making a bet on races and whose bet is accepted by another person for the
purpose of pari-mutuel wagering.". |
