AN ACT TO AMEND THE RENT CONTROL ACT TO |
INCREASE THE CEILING ON CONTROLLED
RENT |

1.(1) This Act, which amends the Rent
Control Act may be cited as the Rent Control (Amendment) Act, 2006. | Short title. Ch. 163. |
(2) This Act shall come into force
on such date as the Minister may appoint by Notice published in the Gazette. | Commencement. |
2. Section 4 of the principal
Act is amended by deleting the words, "exceeds twenty-five thousand"
and substituting therefor the words, "exceeds seventy-five thousand". | Amends section 4 of the principal
Act. |
3. Subsection (2) of section 11
of the principal Act is amended by deleting the words, “exceeds twenty-five
thousand”, and substituting therefor the words, “exceeds seventy-five
thousand”. | Amends section 11 of the principal
Act. |
